The Gods Must Be Crazy

When I watched this movie, I laughed a lot. It was funny and found many differences from modern life style. Xixo who is a bushman in Kalahari looked happy. He can hunt without a gun, and he can journey without a car. If I live like a bushman, how long can I live well. Can I always feel happy? It is unimaginable for me. He does not know about improved modern product. He just followed the laws of nature. He does not need money and even a bottle. People come from nature and go back to nature. I think we are a part of nature. I thought about it again through the movie.

Tree & Flower

It is my birthday on April fifth. That day was holiday for planting in Korea until a few years ago. And according to Asian-Theory, yinyangschool, they said my symbol is a tree by my birthday. Magically, whenever I see a tree, I feel comfortable so much. I love to enjoy walking at park and mountain with contemplation. Especially, there are many trees which are various in Vancouver, so I am really pleased. Many flowers are blooming in April. Green leaves and flowers give me new energy and relaxation, but I do not know their English name unfortunately. I want to know that so I decide to study about gardening. Gardening is helpful for my health, and I am going to do as a hobby from now on.

Remembering Friends Name

I have met many friends in ESL class. They are from different country, so I am difficult to remember their names. I could not pronounciate the word correctly. Whenever I see them, I have to say sorry to them and ask their name again. Now I have a good idea. If I know meanings of their name, I could remember that well. They could do it well, too. First, when I meet new friend, I always tell my name with meaning of my English name. My name is from st. Gemma in Italian. The meaning is jewel or gem. More over it feels kind and wise; I want to be a kind and wise woman. Most friends said that my name matched me well. For example, one of my friends name is Megan who from Greek. Her name means pearl. She has white skin and blonds’ hair like pearl. In addition, if you know origin of English name, you can understand easily. For example, Mc which is from Scottish means “son of ~”, so that Mcdonald means son of Donald. Also, Tailor in the name means their job in the past. If a student as an ESL class student can make friends who are from different country, the student will enjoy chance to learn different culture from own native country.

Changing Mind by Environment

I have changed my mind due to many kinds of experience. When I was a student, I am shy and inactive. After graduating university, I have gotten many kinds of jobs. I was a reporter at local news Paper Company, so I had to interview many people. At first day, I was afraid to meet new person, but I can enjoy talking with new one and listening well now. By the job, I have changed my personality from shy to cheerful character. Next, after marriage I wanted to study more, so I went to university for M.A. degree. During studying, I was a teaching assistant. Most students in my class were professionals as a boss in their company. Their leadership and diligence amazed me. Even though after working, they did not late at school, and they rolled well as a student. They are very curious about everything, and they have a strong responsibility. After I found the especial characters, I wanted to make up my weakness. After all, I have changed more strong mentally, and I have known that I can do anything. Because I experienced different environment, I realized my weakness and goal. I have lived in Canada as an immigrant for one year, so that new environment asks to me changing my mind more powerful like a soldier.

Outside Jogging and Inside Jogging

Most people like to jog for their health. Some people like to jog at the gym, and others like to jog outside. What do you think which one is more beneficial? There are many differences between these two types of jogging. Indoor jogging means using machines. First, it is not affected by the weather. No matter it is raining or snowing outside, people just can jog inside. Also, inside jogging is individual exercise so that people can enjoy listening to music and watching TV at the same time.

Outside jogging is quite different from indoor jogging. Before you go out, people should check the weather. It is completely affected by the weather outside. They should prepare the sunglasses, waterproof clothes or gloves as the weather. This type of jogging can enjoy with other people who want to jog in special cases such as at night, in rainy day, or in sunny day. They can also enjoy the fresh air. These two types of jogging have differences, but it both has a common benefit; no time cannot be an excuse for these exercises. The exercises can be done whenever and wherever the people want.

Korean Education or Canada Education?

If you take a test, where can you get better grade in Korea or Canada? There are many differences between education in Korea and Canada. First, Korea students have to take about ten subjects. There is no choice. When they prepare for midterm exam or final exam, they have to study all subjects. Second, the test format is mostly composed of multiple-choice question like TOFEL. In this case, the students are required memorizing skills. Also, after the test, most students get a grade in a rank so that they know where they are in total ranks.

However, Canada is quite different from Korea. First, Canada students have to take four or three courses in a semester. Canada has smaller school courses than Korea. Also, they can choose one of many elective courses. Second, the test formats are usually one-paragraph questions or short answer questions. Therefore, the students are required writing skills. In addition to grade, the students in Canada get a grade from A to F. They do not know their ranks. Whether the students are educated by Korean system or Canadian system, they would be ready for one of the members of future society.
